Rather than reward solely on academic or athletic success, these scholarships are awarded based on the traits that Marc most personified: Strength, bravery and character. After a rigorous evaluation of written applications, coaches recommendations and personal references, Marc's family felt that Ruby and Quinton best embodied these ideals.
Ruby played soccer at Methacton United from Pee Wees through U16. She was a four year Varsity starter for MHS Girls, and two time Team Captain. During her time on the Varsity team, she was also three time All Area Honorable Mention. Ruby also plays lacrosse in Spring, and was a four year Varsity starter for HS lacrosse, as well, and 2nd Team All Conference in 2022. She will be attending James Madison University in the Fall, and plans to study Business Administration.
Quinton Stemler played soccer for Methacton United/FC Montco for ten years, and all four years of this high school career at MHS. He discovered his love for soccer while living overseas (specifically while living in Budapest), and was born in South Africa. He moved to Pennsylvania in 2011, and found a great many friendships through a common love for soccer. He also runs track, plays lacrosse, and is an avid skier. He also loves traveling, the outdoors, and volunteering in the community. He will be furthering his studies and athletic career at Wofford College.
Ruby and Quinton will each receive $3,000 scholarships to apply toward their higher education goals, a plaque honoring their achievement, and their names are engraved on the perpetual award displayed at Methacton High School.
