FC Monto Strikers finish solid run in the Challenge Cup

The 2013 boys FC Monto Strikers started off The Challenge Cup with back to back wins. The Strikers played Leigh High Valley on 3/26 beating them 4-3 in a hard fought match. The next day they won 2-0 against Penn Fusion Academy which would put the Strikers in the top of their bracket.

The spring weather delayed the next match but the Strikers were ready to take on Keystone FC Premier. On 4/23 the Strikers tied Keystone 2-2 clinching the top seed.

Moving to the quarter finals, the Strikers played Radnor on 5/14, winning 1-0 advancing to the semi finals.

The next game would be at 8am on 5/21 against PA Rush on a day when the temperature would get up to 96 degrees. The boys were up at 6am and traveled an hour to get to Doylestown, but it wasn't going to be our day. PA Rush put in multiple goals early in the game and by half it was 7-0. However, the boys were not about to give up. They went out and dominated the 2nd half not letting a single goal in. The Strikers lone goal would come from a direct kick. In the end they lost 7-1.

The coaches, Noreen Procaccini, Paul Dajewski, and Mike Morelli could not be more proud of this team of 9 players who are great friends, fierce competitors, and never give up. Congratulations Strikers!!
