FC Montco's Victory wins 2, loses in the Eastern Regional semi-final

Having won the State tournament, the FC Montco Victory won their first 2 games in the Eastern Regional tournament in West Virginia and then lost to Princeton in the semi-finals.

Game 1: In their first match of the tournament, the Victory cruised to a fairly easy win with a 4-0 victory over Culpeper (Virginia).  Jake Luciani had a natural hat trick and Silas Stemler finished off the scoring on a breakaway. Troy O'Malley made 2 saves as the team posted shutout #16 for the season.

Game 2:  The second match was another win as they came back from a early 2-0 deficit with 2 free kick goals from Theo Deskevich (one on a corner) sandwiched around a pair from Jake Luciani (giving him 5 for the 2 days) for a 4-2 win.  Lucas Remick made a huge stop of a PK to keep the opposition of getting back in the match.

Regional semifinals:  After 80 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of OT, the score was still 0-0.  The match ended with Princeton Barcelona beating the Victory 3-1 in penalty kicks.  The boys held a very big, fast, and talented New Jersey squad (who entered the game having scored 11 and surrendering 0) scoreless and had a number of chances to win this semifinal of the Eastern Regional Presidents Cup but did could not finish.

Princeton went on to win the title 2-0, beating a squad the Victory defeated 4-2.

The team ends a very successful season with a record of 22-1-4, including 17 shutouts including a 16 game winning streak.
